NSW recorded a further 16 cases of coronavirus on Wednesday which include 13 since Tuesday 8pm.

The surge in cases has led to major restrictions being rolled across the Greater Sydney area which will come in to play from 4pm on Wednesday and are expected to last for a week.

These include a limit on five visitors to households, including children, and masks mandatory in all indoor non-residential settings as well as drinking while standing no longer allowed.

A West Hoxton birthday party guest, who was COVID positive, has been linked to a number of cases.

There were 30 people in attendance at the party who are now isolating and being tested for the virus.

On Tuesday, Phoebe Burgess posted a number of images to Instagram of herself having a treatment at the Double Bay salon - however that was days after the exposure window.
