The victim had gone to help a supermarket staff member when tempers flared.

Pictures show the moment the 41-year-old anti-masker shoves the Good Samaritan in the chest, sending him stumbling backwards and crashing to the floor.

Moments beforehand, the man can be seen jumping the queue before a staff member challenges him about not wearing a mask.

That’s when police say he became irate and abusive.

The accused becomes even more agitated, yelling and pointing before starting to walk out of the supermarket.

But he returns, allegedly pushing the victim to the ground.

“That’s incredibly selfish and just unnecessary,” one shopper said after the incident.

“Why would he push him?”

After reviewing these security pictures, police arrested the 41-year-old Aldinga Beach man on Tuesday.

He has been charged with assault, disorderly behaviour and failing to comply with a direction.

As well as allegedly refusing to wear a mask, CCTV footage shows him failing to use the QR Code check-in on arrival.

He has been released on bail and will face Christies Beach Magistrates Court next month.
