Bra Boy Jed Campbell ‘kicked, dragged’ elderly man with dementia at Coles Express service station in Sydney

A member of Sydney’s Bra Boy Gang is set to appear in court, charged over the assault of an elderly man with dementia.

Police allege 44-year-old Jed Campbell kicked and punched the 74-year-old man on Monday morning at a Coles Express service station in Kingsford, in the city’s south east.

Campbell allegedly approached the older man after an interaction that occurred between him and Campell’s wife at the service station a short time earlier.

She claims the elderly man tried to get into her car with her children inside earlier that morning.

After driving off and telling her husband, he then allegedly went to the service station and assaulted the man.

Campbell is accused of kicking the 74-year-old, causing him to fall backward, before hitting the man and allegedly dragging him outside by the ankle.

Once outside, he allegedly kicked the older man in the head, before leaving the scene.

The 74-year-old man suffered a fractured hip and facial injuries and was taken to St Vincent’s hospital for treatment.

Police say his injuries are so significant he may never walk again.

Campbell was arrested hours after the alleged assault, at a home in Daceyville.

He was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm and remains in custody.

Campbell is due to face a magistrate at Waverley Court on Tuesday.
