An Adelaide family’s Christmas tree has been topped with a furry angel after a special guest wandered inside their home.
Amanda McCormick arrived at her Coromandel Valley home on Wednesday to discover a koala, wanting to join the festive spirit, had decided it wanted to take pride of place on the tree.
Koala rescue organisation 1300KOALAZ said its operator originally thought she was the victim of a prank when she took the call.

While Amanda thought her little visitor made a lovely addition to the decorations, she believed it was best suited to a tree of the gum variety.
The photo, shared to 1300KOALAZ’s Facebook page, has since been liked almost 2000 times.
“Only in Australia,” one commenter said.
“The most beautiful decoration on the tree,” another added.
Rescuers have since returned the festive friend to its rightful home.
