Long weekend warning

While the number of new cases has decreased, Health Minister Brad Hazzard warned people need to stick to the rules during the NRL grand final long weekend.

“There are limits on the numbers of people who can currently gather together, you shouldn’t be having people at home,” he said on Sunday.

“Your home remains one of the most dangerous places to be in terms of transmission of the virus.

“We need to make sure that we all enjoy the game but we don’t have a super spreader event.

“All the hard work that we have done... Please don’t ruin that, please don’t let the side down.

“This is a game that we all must win. It is a game where we all have to be winners.

“We have to make sure that this virus does not get a hold and get back in the numbers that it can do very easily if we ignore the rules.”
