Samsung has announced the third-generation Galaxy Z Flip at the UNPACKED event on Thursday morning.
Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold3, the Korean tech company’s newest flippable smartphone promises to build on the previous itineration.
Sammy has added some nice features to the new model based on feedback from its customers.

Featured flipped
One of the biggest changes to the latest model is the bigger 1.9-inch front cover screen.
Samsung has improved the functionality that now includes quick settings, Samsung Pay, notifications and a range of widgets available without opening the smartphone.
As the name suggests, the phone flips out to a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that has the same high refresh rate as the Galaxy Z Fold3.
Durability has also been a focus with Gorilla Glass Victus covering the glass backside of the device. There’s also IPX8 water resistance - a first for the series.
In terms of the camera, there’s a 10MP lens on the front. Around the back, we see 12MP wide and ultra-wide snappers.
Additionally, we see a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5G and dual-sim support.
Pricing and local availability
What is also exciting is the range of colours that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip3 will be available in; Cream, Green, Phantom Black and Lavender.
There will also be some Samsung online exclusives (as was the case with the Galaxy S21 series). If you buy directly, you can also pick from White, Pink and Grey.
Pricing starts from $1,499 for the 128GB model. If you need more storage, you can bump it up to 256GB for $1,599.
