Man dead after workplace accident at Ingham’s Burton poultry processing facility

A man has died following a tragic workplace accident at a poultry processing plant in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to the Ingham’s facility at Burton just before 8.30am on Monday following reports an employee had been struck by a truck.

Despite the efforts of staff and paramedics, a 53-year-old from Munno Para West died at the scene.

Police said there are no suspicious circumstances.

In a statement to 7NEWS, Ingham’s said it was “deeply saddened” by the news one of its employees had been “fatally injured” on site.

“Ingham’s is doing everything we can to support our team member’s family and our people,” it said.

“The site is closed and Ingham’s has arranged for on-site counselling services.”

The company said it was “fully assisting” police and SafeWork SA with their investigations.

Police will prepare a report for the State Coroner.
