Man crushed to death in second workplace accident in Waterloo Corner, Adelaide

A man has been crushed to death at a workplace in Adelaide’s north in the second deadly industrial accident in the state this week.

Police were called to the business on Waterloo Corner around 8.20am on Wednesday.

The man, aged in his 30s, was found crushed in a tyre pressing machine.

His distraught colleagues left the business in shock following the tragedy.

“He was a very good gentleman in the community,” one co-worker said of his friend.

Another said the man was a father and husband and described the tragedy as “quite sad”.

The man’s death comes after a 53-year-old grandfather was killed at Ingham’s poultry plant in Burton on Monday.

Robert Langella, 53, died after being struck by a reversing truck.

His workmates - some of whom he’d worked with for 14 years - tried to save him but his injuries were too severe.

Langella’s shattered family remembered him as a lovable larrikin who had a knack for making people laugh.

“He was just amazing,” his daughter Kayla said.

“He just made everyone smile around him and just wanted to make everyone laugh and happy.”
