Bindi Irwin has given birth to her baby girl.

The daughter of late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and her husband Chandler Powell announced they were expecting their first child in August, writing: “Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021”.

On Friday evening, she took to Instagram to share the first photo of their baby, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell.

“March 25, 2021. Celebrating the two loves of my life,” she wrote, sharing an adorable picture of her and Chandler looking down at the baby, wrapped in a grey blanket and wearing a pink beanie.

“Happy first wedding anniversary to my sweetheart husband and day of birth to our beautiful daughter.

“Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light.

“Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s.

“Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior.

“Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad.

“There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl.

“She chose the perfect day to be born and we feel tremendously blessed.”

In a separate picture, a note reveals that Grace was born on March 25 at 5.52pm.

She weighed in at seven pounds and seven ounces, with a height of 20 inches, or 50cm.

‘Genuine, unconditional love’

Bindi and Chandler tied the knot in a ceremony at Queensland’s Australia Zoo on March 25 last year, just hours before the country banned weddings attended by more than five people.

In her vows, Irwin described her relationship with Powell - who proposed on her 21st birthday - as “genuine, unconditional love”.

“A love like this is meant to be felt, in every part of our soul,” she said.

During the ceremony, the family also lit a candle in memory of Bindi’s father Steve, who was killed by a stingray in September 2006, when she was eight.

“My dad used to say that I couldn’t marry anyone unless he could swim across the croc pond first,” Bindi said in her vows.

“And now, here you are, helping us during our regular crocodile demonstrations.”

Naming Bindi’s baby

Speaking previously to The Bump, Bindi revealed that she and Powell had been waiting to meet their daughter before they named her.

“We are waiting to meet her before we decide on a name. We want to hold her and make sure the name that we choose fits her perfectly,” she said.

“We have been looking through family history on both my side and Chandler’s side for family name inspiration.”

“My heart is so incredibly happy.

“And I know that Steve would be beyond proud.”
