Sydney netball coach charged with sexually touching girls as young as 12

Police began investigating the 70-year-old earlier this year following reports girls had been touched by a man known to them.

A former netball coach has been charged with allegedly sexually touching three teenage girls at netball courts in Sydney’s south.

Detectives in October began investigating reports teenage girls had been sexually touched by a man known to them.

Following inquiries, police officers arrested a 70-year-old man at Kogarah Police Station last Friday.

The man’s Beverly Hills home was searched subsequently and documents were seized.

He was charged with eight counts of intentionally sexually touching a child and attempting to intentionally sexually touch a child.

Police will allege the man sexually touched three teenage girls - then aged between 12 and 15 - at netball courts in Sydney’s south between March 2019 and September 2020.

He appeared at Sutherland Local Court on Friday and was granted strict conditional bail to reappear at the same court on January 19.

Investigations continue.
