Police have found the body of a man inside a burnt-out car in Sydney’s southwest.

Emergency services were called to a car fire on Hume Road in Smithfield around 6pm on Saturday.

Police discovered the man’s body after firefighters extinguished the flames.

The man is believed to be in his 20s but hasn’t yet been formally identified.

Police are treating the incident as suspicious and have established a strike force to investigate.
